The Meghalaya State Electricity Board Employees (Discipline and Appeal) Regulations, 1996.

PART-I
GENERAL

(1) Short title and application

(a) Short Title:-

These Regulations shall be called the Meghalaya State Electricity Board Employees (Discipline and Appeal) Regulations 1990.

(b) Applications:-

These Regulations shall apply to all employees of the Meghalaya State Electricity Board.

(2) Definitions

In these Regulations unless the context otherwise requires :-

1. "Appellate Authority" means the authority to whom appeal lies.

2. "Appointing Authority" in relation to a Board employee means the authority empowered to make appointment to the post or category in any service in the Board.

3. "Board" means the Meghalaya State Electricity Board constituted under Section 5 of the Electricity (Supply Act) 1948.

4. " Board Employee" means any person appointed by the Board to any service or post.

5. "Disciplinary Authority" means the authority competent under these Regulations to impose on a Board employee any of the penalties specified in Regulations 9 and 10.

6. "Major penalty" means any of the penalties specified in Regulation 9(B)

7. "Minor penalty" means any of the penalties specified in Regulation 9(A)

8. "Service" means a group of persons classified by the Board as a Board Service.

9. "State Government" means the Government of Meghalaya.
